Job Description

This position is the business owner for all digital, software products and services across all business units. P&L responsibilities for Digital Content business, Collection HQ/ESP and other products including but not limited to Collect & Connect, Content Café, Publytics; budget responsibilities; In addition to being the P&L owner of the Digital and Software P&L, this person will be responsible for the Bids & Pricing Services for the entire Public Library Business. Staff management and OpEx management. Assists the EVP at Baker & Taylor in developing and establishing long and short-range strategic objectives, business plans and budgets. Serves a key role in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of all strategic business goals.
Ensures proposal and pricing policies and activities meet corporate sales and profitability goals. Manages policy and responsibility related to department authority to execute on behalf of Baker & Taylor all bids, bid bonds, performance bonds, contracts and other documents relating to the supply of Baker & Taylor products to libraries and other institutional customers of Baker & Taylor, LLC

Job Requirements

  • 10 + years related job experience
  • MBA Preferred with technical skills/engineering background
  • Sales. Digital and Product Services Experience is a plus
  • Must have digital business development experience
  • Must have technical software product development experience and understanding
  • Must have strong project management and general management skills
  • Must have had P&L experience for a product line
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to evangelize and bring people with diverse interests together in a common cause.
  • Travel requirements - Minimal, less than 10%
