Job Description

Summary of Position: 
The FVC Inventory Analyst is responsible for correctly determining the optimum number of books to source for over 150 K-12 virtual bookstores, in order to fulfill customer orders, reduce E&O, and  reduce customer backorder while ensuring margin and sales goals are met
Specific Responsibilities:
*  Assumes responsibility for analyzing past sales data, title attributes, current inventory, estimated enrollments, and vendor characteristics to forecast  the correct estimated sales quantities for over 150 K-12 Virtual Bookstores.
*  Direct responsibility for the acquisition of print and digital course materials. 
*  Directly responsible for determining correct vendor sourcing to maximize margin and reduce markdowns; Negotiates with vendors for favorable discounts, minimums, and returns percentages.
*  Manages the adoption queue and ensuring research and adoption flow is completed in a timely manner according to the adoption timeline
*  Develops and manages key reports to effectively manage inventory, providing relevant reports to FVC management to assist with driving sales growth

Job Requirements

*  Minimum 3 years in wholesale or retail inventory management with a track record of achieving targeted margins. Previous experience in a college, university, or K-12 bookstores textbook department is preferred.
*  Associates Degree or equivalent 
*  Experience working in a brick and mortar or virtual bookstore that serves educational institutions is a plus
*  Ability to determine the correct quantity of a title in order to reduce excess inventory, reduce customer backorders, and increase gross margin.
*  Ability to multi-task and achieve results with frequent interruptions.
