Job Description

This position provides consultative academic/curriculum/best practices assistance to Sales personnel and FSS customers in the development, implementation, and evaluation of FSS textbook product solutions. Can apply instructional strategies based on current instruction methodologies; developing, evaluating and advising on the use of curriculum/instructional materials. Can provide practical experience recommendations for new product/services endorsements and launch programs. Utilizes knowledge of FSS textbook products (both new and pre-owned offerings) to solve customer needs. Considered an expert on textbook programs. In addition to the Sales team, also works closely with the Research Department and Textbook Product Manager. Keeps up to date on publisher and product training




  • Reviews and evaluates customer curriculum needs in terms of educational challenges and desired outcomes in order to align needs to FSS textbook offerings.

  • Applies areas of expertise to enhance sales strategies

  • Act as a liaison between sales and educational thought leaders

  • Stay abreast of newly released and anticipated products and services in relationship to educational market trends and competition.

  • Work on special projects as needed

  • Assist with implementation of FSS products

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree or 5 Years of Relevant Textbook Experience

  • Prior consulting experience, publisher related experience, association with academic organizations helpful.

  • Minimum 1 year recent, relevant experience in sales, sales support or high volume customer service role required

  • Strong organizational skills (documentable by sample and example)

  • High attention to detail.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Ability to work with and support multiple people effectively and flexible when priorities are changing

  • Proven ability to deliver quality output in a flexible, often adhoc environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of CRM systems/software,MS Office Suite and other sales tools
